Finding Company Information in Library Databases

You can find company information in a number of library resources, but I'm going to focus on just three, for the purposes of this assignment:

Statista

  • Type the name of the company in the search bar.
  • NOTE:  it will provide recommendations called "editorial picks." This is a new database we highly recommend as it usually provides the most comprehensive insight into a given company.

Business Source Premier

  • Click on the "Company Profiles" tab at the top of the page to locate over 10,000 MarketLine Reports on companies in the US, Europe, and Asia.
  • VERY IMPORTANT: when you've located your company, click on the company name and not the PDF.  The company name gives you both an excellent overview of the company as well as some seriously cool "related information," like SWOT analyses, market research reports, and much more.  Plus, you can still click on the PDF to get the MarketLine report.

 Nexis Uni

  • Use "Get Company Info" search box to find basic information--news, competitors, executives, financials, court cases--on "over 80 million companies."
  • NOTE:  this is a very large database.  You can find, e.g., an entry for "FieldLogix," a Kearney Mesa-based company that writes software that optimizes delivery routes-- and has only two employees.

If you have trouble finding information on your company, please ask me for help.
